In the Cesme area, there are a large number of hotels available at room rates of 15 to 20 EUR per night, including breakfast. To be fair, we guessed that this published rate was likely a mistake, but many consumers may not have recognized that. Our Experienceĭuring the summer of 2021, as travel was opening up, several friends and I decided to take an opportunistic vacation in Turkey because we found rooms at the Radisson Blu Resort & Spa Cesme at a rate of around 10 EUR per night. Ultimately, whether a hotel rate is a “mistake” or just a great deal is a matter of opinion and interpretation of how the hotel published the rate. Further, many locations have value hotels priced at tens of dollars just blocks away from luxury resorts with room rates upwards of several hundred dollars per night. Some travel destinations are known for cheap accommodations and hotel pricing can vary widely based on seasonality and demand. Yet another possibility is that a faulty technology integration misprices or miscommunicates pricing. ![]() Other times, mistake rates are the result of a hotel providing incorrect pricing to booking platforms. Sometimes mistake rates are the result of incorrectly calculated taxes and fees. Often, mistake rates can look like incredible deals that are still within the realm of reasonable. Sometimes mistake rates are incredibly low think tens of dollars for rooms that usually sell for hundreds (or thousands) of dollars a night.
